About
A county firm
that treats the county as four places
Essex is fifty miles across and it does not behave as one market. We work all of it, we price the distance openly instead of hiding it in the volume, and we survey before we quote.
What we do
Household removals are the bulk of it — whole houses across the county and out of it, man-and-van work at the smaller end, packing to whatever depth you want, containerised storage, long-distance work up the country, and moves that carry on into France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
Business work is the other strand: offices around Chelmsford and Colchester, units on the Basildon, Braintree and Thurrock estates, and retail and studio space along the Southend front and in the market towns.
Why we talk about distance
Most removals sites in a county this size quietly average it out. We would rather not. Brentwood to Basildon is a short hop; Epping to Frinton is the better part of a day before anything is lifted. A quote that treats those as the same has hidden the difference somewhere, usually in the volume.
So distance is one of the four things we price on, stated on the page rather than buried in a spreadsheet. It makes quotes comparable, which is the point.
How we work
Survey before quote
On anything above a small flat, somebody looks at the property — in person or on a video call — before a number is written down. It is free, and it is the only reliable way to fix volume and access.
Written quotes
Measured volume, crew, vehicle, what packing is included, what cover applies, and the travel. If you are comparing us with another firm, those are the things to compare.
One point of contact
The person who takes your brief still knows the job when you ring three weeks later. Nobody is passed round a queue.
Protection as standard
Blankets, covers, corner and door-frame protection, floor runners where the flooring warrants it. On the listed frontages in Coggeshall or the Colchester Dutch Quarter that is the baseline, not an upgrade.
What we do not do
We do not quote before we understand the job. We do not promise a transit time we cannot stand behind. We do not take on a property without establishing that we can physically reach it. And we do not claim accreditations, awards, press coverage or customer numbers we have not got — if something is not on this site, it is because it is not true yet.
Cover and responsibility
Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. If something in your household is genuinely valuable, say so at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies before you commit. The contractual position is on the terms page.
Getting hold of us
The quote form is quickest — it reaches the people who plan the work. Contact has the rest, questions covers most of what comes up first, and areas we cover sets out how the county splits.
Next step
Tell us about the move
Send both addresses, your dates if you have them, and a sense of what is going. We will read it properly and come back with a written quote.
