CM · CO · SS · RM — the whole county
Essex removals,
done properly.
House moves, man-and-van work and business relocations across the county — Chelmsford and Colchester, the Southend and Thurrock coast, the commuter towns down the A12 and A127, and the villages in between. Plus an arm running household moves into Europe.
How your move goes
Four stages, set out before you commit
Survey
Somebody looks at the property and measures the volume. In person, or on a video call if that suits you better.
Written quote
Volume, crew, vehicle, what packing is included, what cover applies. On paper, before you book anything.
The move
Protection down, loaded in a planned order, and driven by people who know which Essex roads punish a loaded vehicle.
Set down
Unloaded room by room, furniture rebuilt, packing materials taken away with us when we leave.
The county
Moving across Essex
Essex is large enough that a single removals firm has to think about it in pieces. The county town sits in the middle on the A12. Colchester is another half-hour up the same road. Southend and Thurrock are a different world down the A127 and A13, tied to the estuary. Epping and Loughton look towards London. And between all of them are market towns, villages and a lot of new estate housing.
What that means practically is that travel time is a real cost here, and pretending otherwise produces quotes that go wrong. So it is one of the four things we price on, stated openly rather than buried.
The county town and the A12 corridor
Chelmsford, Witham, Colchester and the towns strung along the road between them. A mix of Victorian terrace, interwar semi and a great deal of recent building. Access is generally good; the road itself is the variable, and at the wrong hour it is a significant one.
The estuary — Southend, Thurrock and the coast
Seafront flats at Southend and Westcliff, terraces at Leigh, bungalow belts at Rayleigh and Hockley, and the Thurrock towns down by the crossing. Lifts, seafront parking and tight older streets are the recurring questions.
The commuter towns
Brentwood, Billericay, Wickford, Epping, Loughton, Chigwell. Larger family houses, driveways, and volumes that come in above what the room count suggests because nobody counts the garage.
Market towns, villages and the north of the county
Braintree, Halstead, Maldon, Saffron Walden and the lanes around them. Narrow approaches, listed frontages, and farmhouses where the outbuildings hold more than the house. These get looked at before a vehicle is allocated.
Coverage
Across Essex
Six towns where the local detail genuinely changes how a move runs, each written up properly. The rest of the county — Harlow, Clacton, Rayleigh, Wickford, Maldon, Epping, Loughton, Grays, Canvey, Witham, Saffron Walden — is covered from the same yards.
The European arm
Removals from Essex to Europe
The M25 is on the doorstep, which puts the Kent crossings within a comfortable run of anywhere in the county. Four destinations we handle regularly, each framed as the route it actually is — from Essex, out through Kent, and on.
Common questions
Before you get in touch
Essex is a big county. Do you really cover all of it?
Yes, and we price it honestly rather than pretending it is all the same trip. Chelmsford to Clacton is a serious run with a loaded vehicle; Brentwood to Basildon is not. Distance is one of the four things that moves a quote, and we say so rather than hiding it.
How soon do I need to book?
As soon as you have a date, even a provisional one. Fridays and month-ends go first across the whole county, and summer tightens everything. Holding a slot costs nothing; finding a crew at short notice in July is another matter.
Do you do office and business moves?
Regularly. Offices in Chelmsford and Colchester, units on the Basildon and Braintree estates, shops and studios along the Southend front. Out of hours is usually the answer so trading stops for the shortest time.
Can you store things between completions?
Yes — wrapped, inventoried and racked indoors. Essex chains slip like everyone else's, and putting the load into store beats leaving it on a vehicle overnight. Mention it at quote stage so it is priced in rather than improvised.
Is a move to Europe a different company?
No, it is us. The load leaves Essex, picks up the M25 and runs out through Kent to the crossings. Same crew packing here, and the customs documentation is prepared from the same inventory.
